Dodgers Home Runs Back Landon Knack To Smack Marlins

Dodgers Home Runs Back Landon Knack to Smack Marlins

A Walk-Off Win for the Ages

In a thrilling display of offensive firepower, the Los Angeles Dodgers launched a barrage of home runs to secure a dramatic walk-off victory over the Miami Marlins on Friday night.

Leading the charge was Landon Knack, the Dodgers' 23-year-old rookie outfielder, who belted two home runs, including the game-winning blast in the bottom of the ninth inning. Knack's heroics capped off a remarkable night for the Dodgers' offense, which produced seven home runs in total.

A Record-Setting Night

The Dodgers' seven home runs tied a franchise record for the most in a single game since moving to Los Angeles in 1958. It was also the first time in Major League Baseball history that a team had hit seven home runs in a walk-off win.

The home run barrage began in the first inning when Will Smith launched a solo shot off Marlins starter Edward Cabrera. Justin Turner and James Outman followed suit with solo homers in the second and third innings, respectively.

Knack's Heroics

Knack's first home run came in the fifth inning, a towering three-run blast that gave the Dodgers a 5-3 lead. The Marlins rallied to tie the game in the eighth inning, but Knack had the final say in the ninth.

With one out and runners on first and second, Knack took a 1-1 pitch from Marlins reliever Anthony Bender and sent it soaring over the left-field wall for a walk-off grand slam. The crowd at Dodger Stadium erupted in jubilation as Knack rounded the bases and was mobbed by his teammates.

A Team Effort

While Knack was the star of the night, the Dodgers' victory was a true team effort. Julio UrĂas turned in a solid start, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings of work. The bullpen held the Marlins scoreless over the final three innings, with Daniel Hudson earning the save.

The Dodgers' win improved their record to 58-32, keeping them atop the National League West standings. The Marlins, meanwhile, fell to 40-50 and now sit in fourth place in the NL East.
