Seattle Seahawks Elevate George Holani, Tackle Insurance From Practice Squad

The Seattle Seahawks have elevated running back George Holani and offensive tackle Greg Eiland from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Holani, an undrafted rookie out of Boise State, has rushed for 21 yards on 10 carries this season. Eiland, also an undrafted rookie, has yet to play in an NFL game.

The Seahawks are thin at both running back and offensive tackle, so the elevation of Holani and Eiland provides some much-needed depth.

Running back Rashaad Penny is doubtful for Sunday's game with a calf injury, and DeeJay Dallas is also dealing with an injury. Holani could see some playing time if Penny and/or Dallas are unable to play.

At offensive tackle, the Seahawks are without Duane Brown, who is on injured reserve with a knee injury. Eiland could serve as a backup to left tackle Stone Forsythe.

The elevation of Holani and Eiland is a sign that the Seahawks are taking their depth issues seriously. The team has been hit hard by injuries this season, and they need all the help they can get.

Holani and Eiland will be looking to make the most of their opportunity on Sunday. If they can perform well, they could earn a more permanent role on the Seahawks' roster.
